Ofor seed comes from the fruit of the Detarium microcarpum tree native to tropical West Africa. High in essential vitamins and minerals, ofor seed is an excellent soup thickener popularly used in traditional Igbo cuisine. It adds both flavor and nutrition to food, and is a perfect substitute for other thickeners such as achi (Brachystegia Eurycoma) and ede (cocoyam powder).
