  • Also known as African forest mango or dika, ogbono seed comes from African wild mango trees that grow naturally in African rain forests. These mango trees have two fruiting seasons from April to July and September to October. The ripe fruit flesh is used to make drinks, while the seeds are used to make ogbono soup - a beloved Nigerian soup that "draws" due to the thickening and mucillagenous effect of ogbino seeds.
