  • Ogiri Igbo is the most pungent type of ogiri. It is the king of umami - funky, flavorful, medicinal, and delicious. Ogiri Igbo is fermented for much longer that other types of ogiri. Just like fermented African locust beans, dawadawa, and ogiri Okpei, ogiri Igbo is rich in proteins, vitamins, and minerals. Ogiri Igbo is used specifically to cook traditional Igbo soups such as Ofe Oha, Ofe Onugbu, etc. A little goes a long way.
